As you already know from the title of this post, this is going to be our last podcast for a few months. I’ve made the decision to put a pause on Ambition Pays Off for the summer. Before I get into the reasons why, I just want to thank you for taking the time to read and listen. We’ve been running the podcast and putting out a new episode each week for the last year and a half, and never once have we missed a week. I’ve really enjoyed putting the podcast together and hearing from each one of you about how the episodes have helped you. It’s just really been a joy, which is why we’re just pausing the podcast, not saying goodbye forever.

This past week, a few things happened that made me want to take a step back and take a little time to really think about the content we’re putting out there. One of the things that happened was our amazing Podcast Producer, Molly, has decided to no longer offer her podcast producing services. She has decided to really lean into her branding business, which I am so excited about for her because she’s really learning what her expertise is and what makes her light her up. That’s exactly what you should be doing as an online service provider! So with that, we got the news that at the end of this month, she would no longer be able to be editing and producing our podcast.

At the same time, we’ve been planning some fun things for July because it’s our five year business anniversary. It’s been almost five years since I started down this crazy entrepreneurial online business path, and with that, I’ve been thinking a lot about what has happened over the last five years and what we want to do in the next five years for the business.

I’ve also had lots of time while I’ve been nursing for hours a day over the last month to think about how we can really provide the best information and value to you: our audience, our listeners, our email subscribers, our followers or fans — basically everyone that is in our audience — and really making sure that we are giving the best, most valuable information that we can give you to help you start your business, scale it, and make passive income.

With that, I’ve come to the decision that I want to take a step backand really think about how we can best serve and grow our audience. Obviously, we will continue to offer our programs, roadmaps and free trainings but as far as our podcasts and other content, we’re going to take a few months to really figure out what it is that we want in the next five years for the business.

Some of the exciting things coming up may include a new YouTube channel, updates to a lot of our emails, new podcasts, more personal insights on my life and behind the scenes of the business; so I’m just I’m really excited for what’s to come.

I’m also sharing all of this with you to remind you that the best thing about owning your own business is that you get to make it what you want. It can evolve with you as you evolve as a human.

When I started this business, I was working in political consulting, putting in 60 plus hours per week. I was also growing my business on the side.

Over the last five years, we’ve had two kids, we’ve moved, and there are just so many things that have happened during that time. I’ve also evolved as a human over the last five years, and our business has evolved too. It’s important to me that the business is still continuing to align with what makes me happy — that’s the whole point of having a business: being able to do something that lights you up every single day. You don’t want to create a business that just creates another job for you, and that’s why I’m taking this time.

So I really hope that you can take this as permission for yourself that if you need some time to stop and reflect before you move forward, that’s totally okay. Part of my reflection is making sure I have a vision for what are we doing and making sure it aligns with what makes me happy as an individual, but also making sure that we are helping and impacting as many people as possible. One of the biggest thing I’ve learned over the last five years is holy shit, there are so many freaking opportunities out there, and I want more people to know about this whole online business thing because most people don’t.

Still, if I tell people what I do, they have no idea that it even exists, or that it’s possible, and I want more people to know about it so they can have the income, flexibility and lifestyle that I have and have built over the last five years. We don’t deserve to sit in a cubicle for half of our lives! That’s not living — and I don’t think that most people want to do that, and I want to make sure that we’re showing more and more people that there are so many other opportunities out there.

Again, this is just a pause for the summer. We will be back! I’m going to take this time. If you have anything you would love to see more of, or if there’s content that we’ve put together that you absolutely loved, I would love to hear from you. I will be active on Instagram throughout the summer, and of course make sure to check your inbox because we’ll be sharing updates through our email newsletters.

PS: If you are ready to take the next leap in your business, whether it’s starting your business, scaling your services or turning your expertise into a digital product, make sure to watch out for next month because we are going to be doing something special for our five year anniversary!

Along the way, I realized Mondays can be great, stress doesn’t equal success, and you’re capable of more than you think. Now, I have the privilege of helping other ambitious individuals realize their potential and build their dream business and life.
