3 Ways to Remind Yourself How Awesome You Are

Even thinking about your mindset is a huge step in the right direction. A lot of the time our mindset hang ups are related to self-doubt. For a moment we forget that we are capable of doing the things we’re doing and we start procrastinating, second-guessing, and blaming our lack of progress on perfectionism.

It’s all of us, right? We’ve all been there. We say it’s perfection, but really our mind is telling us we’re not good enough so hold back from putting it out there in the world.

These moments aren’t completely avoidable, but they can be helped by some handy ways to remind ourselves how awesome we really are!

Keep a list of your proudest moments

Be like your own mom! Keep your accomplishments on a shelf for when you need them the most. Not a literal shelf, unless you want to! I 100% support it, but on a figurative shelf. Put it on a post-it right next to your computer or in a folder that you can take out when you need it the most. I have a 🙂 (smiley face) folder in my inbox to keep emails that make me smile when I’m having a bad day.

When you’re feeling down, these reminders can give you the confidence boost you need to get started, or may even inspire you for that project.

Give yourself credit for the tough times

Most of us have had a time in our lives that was super rough and came out stronger than we were before. It’s important to remember these hard things you’ve overcome to remind yourself that whatever it is you’re stressing about is figureoutable (thanks Marie Forleo!).

You’ve overcome worse in your life and those experiences contribute to the knowledge and skills you have now. If you’ve done it before, you can do it again!

Give yourself a quick reality check

Sometimes our doubts and anxiety can get the best of us, but most of the time it’s because we rolled with it instead of stopping to ask this question…

How many times has that negative outcome actually become a reality when I take action?

The answer is probably very few times! Sometimes the best way to overcome a moment of self-doubt is to stare it straight in the face and say “you can’t predict the future!”

Entrepreneurship can be lonely and getting out of our own heads can be our biggest challenge to succeeding.

That’s why I’ve created the Reset Your Business & Mindset 5 Day Challenge!
